The Project Team

The Lakota Group

The Lakota Group is a team of talented designers, planners, and communicators powered by a passion to offer creative solutions. Our defining attribute is fostered through a team-based approach to project management centered on positive dialogue. Since the firm’s conception in 1993, Lakota has completed award-winning assignments in more than 300 towns and cities across the country, gaining recognition for its work in comprehensive master planning, site design, and landscape architecture.

Role: The Lakota Group will be the overall team project manager for this assignment and will provide oversight and quality control on the Elmhurst Park District Comprehensive and Strategic Plan. The Lakota Group is an Illinois S-Corporation based in Chicago, Illinois, and employs 14 professionals. This project will be led by Scott Freres and Sarah White, and supported by Cassandra Rice and Cade Sterling from the Lakota team.

PROS Consulting

PROS Consulting, Inc. is a full-service management consulting and planning firm focusing on services to government and not-for-profit agencies. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana with a full-service office in Phoenix, Arizona, the PROS Team has worked on more than 900 projects in 46 states and 7 countries.

The PROS Team offers strong technical competence with extensive industry experience gained from working in local governments, and in major consulting and sports and recreation related firms.

Role: PROS Consulting will assist the team through their significant understanding and experience in park district operations and maintenance, programming and services, demographic and recreational trends, funding opportunities, and implementation strategies. PROS has experience with several park districts in the Chicago area and combines that with national and international experience to help shape their successful approaches and strategies. Neelay Bhatt, Vice President, will be the project lead supported by Austin Hochstetler and Brayton McClure from the PROS team.

Recreation Results

Recreation Results provides consulting and training for government and non-profit agencies. Specializing in strategic planning, data & analytics, and civic innovation, the firm has developed customized solutions including park & facility report cards, performance measures and dashboards, and customer feedback mechanisms.

Role: Recreation Results will assist the team in the creation of scorecards and park evaluation metrics.

Dewberry is a leading professional services firm with a proven history of providing architecture, engineering, and management and consulting services to a wide variety of public-and private-sector clients. Role: Dewberry Architects, Inc. (Dewberry) will assist the team with the facilities design and space needs assessment for the project.

Primera is a full-service engineering design and consulting firm with a staff of 200+ professionals dedicated to sustainable design and the pursuit of excellence using the latest technologies. The firm offers a wide range of professional services with a focus in three major areas of expertise: Buildings, Transportation and Power.

Role: Primera Engineers, Ltd. (Primera) will assist the team in civil engineering and stormwater management.

ETC Institute – Leisure Vision

This 94-person firm specializes in the design and administration of market research for governmental organizations. Their major areas of emphasis include citizen satisfaction surveys, parks and recreation surveys, community planning surveys, business surveys, transportation studies, employee surveys, voter opinion surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews. During the past five years, the results of the firm’s market research have led to more than $3 billion in new funding for state, municipal, and county governments as well as numerous nonprofit organizations.

Role: The ETC Institute will lead the team’s market research and community planning/recreation surveys.
